“Your Love is a Song – Switchfoot”
The first time I heard this song I was a mixture of awe and amazement. The melodic use of background music and use of words tugged at the very strings in my heart. The song has the amazing ability to power one’s mind through the darkest times.
The song begins with the words “I hear you breathing in, another day begins.” This I believe is working on the very fact that the song is mentioning that they wake up with God and Jesus on their mind. Then in the next few words the song is crying out to God about why his dreams have not come true, and maybe why the world around them is changing dramatically.
The next verse is “I’ve been keeping my eyes wide open; I’ve been keeping my eyes wide open.”  The song means that they are looking for signs of what God wants them to do, or wants them to do in the near future.
The next verse has a meaning that they are accepting what God wants them to do and accepting his love and forgiveness.  The next verse says that they have been “keeping their mind wide open.” That they are going to keep their mind open to whatever God wants them to do. Then it repeats the main verse saying that Gods love is a symphony.
The last verse of the song says that Gods love is a song. That it is never ending and will never end. That it is everybody’s remedy to almost anything and everything.
This song has been my favorite song for a while; it taught me many things about God and Jesus.  May we all have peace in him.

“The Last Shuttle Leaves an Era Behind

Space, the final frontier, has been an area of great emphasis throughout the last century.  Starting with the Apollo missions and the space race which led to the more modern shuttles sent up to monitor and repair the International Space Station.  Sending up the last shuttle ends an era of exploration, an era of guts, an era of glory, but there is hope. For NASA has shut its doors to space in the past.

Since the mid-twentieth century there have been countless amounts of Shuttles, Atlas Rockets, and other space vehicles sent into the final frontier. This window is now closing for countless dreams of children to somehow make it to space. NASA is closing off any manned missions, but they are still sending up shuttles.

There is hope however “Foreseeing the end of shuttle flights, the Obama administration and NASA last year proposed new plans, approved by Congress, to develop heavy-lift rockets for sending people deeper into space, to be ready perhaps after 2020.”  As the 135th space shuttle lifted off at 11:29 it left many people wondering when they would see another American leaving for space.

I believe that in the near future there will be shuttle flights, although for now the many child-hood dreams have been crushed to a pulp. There is hope I say to all of those children, there is hope.
